Layout: 1 column, 19 lines. Bounding and writing lines in light plummet, bounding lines full-length.
Script: Written in a gothic bookhand in black ink with red rubrics.
Decoration: 1- to 2-line throughout in red or blue with simple leafy extensions into margin; 7-line floriate initial on fol. 7 in blue and light blue on gold in a red and green linear frame, floriate border of green vines terminating in flowers and simple acanthus, in a pastel palette.
Binding: 19th-century vellum over pasteboard, gilt fillet and corner stamps, spine in compartments, decorative endbands, brown tree marble pastedowns and conjugate flyleaves at front and back, several dozen vellum tab bookmarks on outer edge of bookblock (not original).
Origin: Written in Germany, probably Bamberg, for Dominican use, soon after the canonization of Vincent Ferrer in 1455; in addition to Vincent, the calendar includes typical Dominican feastdays in red such as Thomas Aquinas (7 March), Peter Martyr (29 April and Translation on 7 May), and Dominic (5 August and Translation on 24 May), as well as the specifically Dominican commemorations on 5...
