Collation: Paper, fol. i (contemporary flyleaf) + 384 ; modern arabic pencil foliation, fol. 184 numbered twice, fol. 330-339 omitted in foliation. May be incomplete (blue ink notation on flyleaf "ff.386-). Layout: 1 column, 21 lines triple bounding lines, the center one red or gold, outer ones blue. Script: Written in a Bolorgir script in black ink with red rubrics. Decoration: 3 full-page illuminated titles, 16 full-page miniatures in Byzantine style depicting the life of Christ, over 150 marginal decorations, four- and six-line zoomorphic initials, two- and three-line initials throughout in gold, blue, and red. Binding: 16th-century blind-stamped calf over wooden boards, with fore-edge flap, carmine edges and colored textile endpapers. Wooden peg clasps, renewed. Housed in cloth-covered clamshell box. Origin: Likely written in Armenia in the 16th century. Provenance: Later white label on front pastedown with number 15931, partially obliterated by bookseller's ticket. 8-line inked inscription on fol. 1 possibly beginning with date 1861. Immediate source of acquisition: Purchased in Dec. 1955 from La Bibliofila, Via Manzoni 21, Milano (their label on pastedown) Call number: MS q Med.199.
