Title devised by cataloger. Conjectural date from dealer's correspondence.
Collation: Parchment, fol. ii + 363 + i ; modern pencil foliation, catchwords on every leaf.
Layout: 4 columns, 21 lines.
Script: Written in Persian script.
Decoration: Double page elaborately illuminated title, 6 section titles, 26 illuminated miniatures, half- or full-page. Text frame of gold and blue on all pages.
Binding: Rebacked, with early shagreen (?) covers laid down on 18th- or 19th-century sheep. 7 recessed gilt-embossed floral cartouches and corner-pieces on each cover. Reddish leather doublures with gilt fillet border. Oval paper label on spine.
Origin: Written in the 16th century in Iran.
Provenance: Numerous notes in Persian script on rear endpaper. Dealer's notes in French on verso of fol. 1 front endpaper, with small stamps .
Immediate source of acquisition: Purchased by BPL in Feb. 1941 from Quaritch.
