Decoration: Penwork initials.
Origin: Written in England probably in the late 10th or early 11th century.
Foliated in pencil: xi, 139. Remnants of earlier foliation.
Provenance: The names of mayors and other officials of the city of Lincoln, from 32 Edw. I to the end of the 15th century, are written throughout the manuscript; it was probably in the possession of the Corporation until the beginning of the 17th century; in 1724 it was given to William Pownall of Lincoln, who disposed of it to Sir Richard Ellys of Nocton, Lincolnshire; passed by inheritance...
