- Binding: Bound with wood boards lacking covering; rebacked in modern times by MacDonald (per note in pencil on back pastedown). Holes for clasps are visible. Edges of pages gilded.
Other decoration, ff. 1-63v: Major initials of one line of music or two lines of text, in red, the first (f. 1v) with purple penwork; two black strapwork initials ff. 1 and 13v.
Script, ff. 1-63v: Gothic.
Music, ff. 1-63v: Square black notation on red 5-line staves.
Layout, ff. 1-63v: 1#^6# (+1, the flyleaf) 2-10#^6# 11#^6# (-3, 4, 6)(?). 5 long lines of music ruled lightly in black; 16 long lines of text, ruled in purple ink. Foliation in red roman numerals, in the same hand as the text. Running heads in red at the top of each page. Paragraph marks in red or black introduce the different processions. - Former Owner(s):
- Written in Spain in the sixteenth century. A typed description of unknown origin attached to front pastedown suggests that the manuscript was written by an Italian scribe about 1500.
