Collation: Parchment, ii (paper) + 28 (foliated 1-28 in modern pencil) + ii; 16 22 3-54 68
Layout: Written in 17-19 long lines.
Script: Written in a calligraphic italic script.
Decoration: Watercolor and gouache portrait miniature of a girl on fol. 7v; illuminated monogram on fol. 8r; blue and gold page borders, red headings, and 2-line single-color initials in blue, red, or gold throughout.
Binding: 19th-century black morocco over boards; silver cornerpieces; marbled endpapers.
Origin: Commissioned by Toussaint Beureutte, whose surname is signed on fol. 1r and whose name and monogram appear on fol. 8r. Beureutte is identified as secretary to the Queen of France, Maria Theresa of Spain. The manuscript is dated "1671" at the end of the text on fol. 26v.
