- Layout: Gatherings: [1]-[28], most of 16 leaves written in double columns of 55 lines per column
Layout: 144 illuminated initials in gold and up to seven colors; 72 of the 79 book initials are historiated with animal, human, or hybrid figures, usually with marginal extensions
Layout: The 65 smaller Prologue initials are unhistoriated; Incipits in red; Running titles in alternating blue and red capitals
Layout: Chapter initials alternately in blue and red penwork with arabesque estensions in alternate color
Layout: All capitals in text highlighted in red.
Decoration: initials (layout features); rubrics; columns (layout features); line fillings; marginal illustrations; historiated initials
Binding: Late 15th century Spanish binding of brown goatskin over wooden boards, elaborately ruled and tooled (with Mudejar influence) in blind on upper and lower covers
Binding: Centerpiece of both is a ruled saltire cross
Binding: Six raised bands on spine, with BIBLIA / SACRA stamped, originally in gilt, above and below the second band
Binding: Two metal clasps, now lost, were originally attached to the fore-edges
Binding: The number 19 is written in black ink, near the top of the fore-edge.
