Two front-to-back vellum leaves from a 16th-century Italian or Spanish gradual, written in a large liturgical rotunda script in black ink with rubrics in red. Decorated with large initials in alternating red and blue. Initials are in the Gothic/Lombardic style, featuring intricate pen-flourishing in contrasting colors.
Verso of second leaf is transcribed as: "O mors, ero mors tua: morsus tuus ero in ferne." Written in a large Gothic Rotunda script in black ink with red staff lines; includes square musical notation on a five-line staff. Decorated with two large calligraphic initials in black ink, featuring intricate interlaced strapwork and flourishes.
