Manuscript leaf from a Spanish gradual written in a large liturgical rotunda script in black ink with rubrics in red on vellum. Decorated with four large initials (Q, A, E, D) in alternating red and blue. Initials are in the Gothic/Lombardic style, featuring intricate pen-flourishing in contrasting colors.
Textblock: 441 x 730 mm.
Typed descriptive label in English affixed to the lower center margin below the text block. It reads: "Leaf from a Spanish choir book or 'gradual.' Part of a manuscript in Latin executed on vellum by Spanish monks. Believed by authorities to have been used in a cathedral at Seville. Donated by Abbey Rents."
