Title from preamble (fol. 7a, l. 4-5). The same title appears in red ink on fol. 2a (later hand).
Physical description: 18 lines per page. Written in black ink with use of red and green ink. European(?) glazed paper. Marginal and interlinear annotations. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals (staring with "1" on fol. 6a). Fol. 1-2 and 225 are later added fly-leaves. Indexing tabs in green and yellow thread.
Annotations on small pieces of paper pasted or placed between the leaves, two written on the back of letters, one addressed to Imām Shamīl (originally placed between fol. 108 and 109, now shelved separately). Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥadīth 144".
Origin: Copy completed by Dabīr(?) ibn Muḥammad al-Kundukhī, on a Friday of Rajab 1206 [Feb.-March 1792] in the Jāmiʻ al-MLLṭī, with ("ʻinda") the qāḍī HṬNW Muḥammad al-ʻalīm (colophon, fol. 223a). Collation completed on 3 Rabīʻ II, 1272 [Dec. 13, 1855] (collation statement, fol. 223a, margin of colophon).
Apparently from the books of the entourage of Imām Shamīl. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942. - Keyword:
