Written in black ink with use of red and green ink. European(?) glazed paper. Marginal and interlinear annotations. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals (staring with "1" on fol. 6a). Fol. 1-2 and 225 are later added fly-leaves. Indexing tabs in green and yellow thread. Annotations on small pieces of paper pasted or placed between the leaves, two written on the back of letters, one addressed to Imām Shamīl (originally placed between fol. 108 and 109, now shelved separately). Collation completed on 3 Rabīʻ II, 1272 [Dec. 13, 1855] (collation statement, fol. 223a, margin of colophon). Apparently from the books of the entourage of Imām Shamīl.
