Extent: 151 leaves : paper ; 178 x 133 (120 x 100) mm. bound to 175 x 140 mm.

Title from colophon (fol. 150b), re-written on: "Mukhtaṣar al-Gharīb".
Physical description: 15 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. The text is vocalized. Dark cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines visible. Fol. 1 is a modern replacement. Text hard to read on some leaves due to a very corrosive ink.
Note dated 1160 H. [1747 or 8] appraising the content of the book on the margin of the colophon (fol. 150b).
Origin: Copy completed on 18 Rajab 850 [Oct. 9, 1446] by Nūr(?) Muḥammad ibn Yāsīn ibn Sulaymān (colophon, fol. 150b).
Waqf of the Madrasat Ibn al-Naḥās (see inscriptions on margins throughout, see fol. 150b). Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
