Ms. codex. Title from colophon of Juzʾ 2 (fol. 133a). Physical description: 21 lines per page. Written in careful small naskh in black ink with use of red, and occasional use of blue. Yāʾ for alif maqṣūrah ; final yāʾ dotted. Red tear-drop text stops, single or in groups of three, at the beginning of the copy. Dark cream paper, glossy, hardly translucid, with laid lines visible. Fol. 1 consists of a later leaf pasted on the recto of an original... Chiefly quinions. Catchword on the verso of each leaf; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals (see "al-Rābiʻ" on fol. 30a). Inscription in Arabic script in red pencil on the pastedown of the upper cover: "86". Origin: According to colophon of Juzʾ 2, copied by Muḥammad ibn Irkmās al-ṭawīl al-Yashbakī al-Ḥanafī, Tuesday 18 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 868 [Aug. 1464] (fol. 133a). Several ownership and reading statements on fol. 1a and b and 162b (some erased), including one in the name of Aḥmad ibn Ḥusayn al-Kīwānī, dated 1167 H. , and one in the name of Muḥammad ibn al-ʻArūdakī.
