Ms. codex. Title from preamble of text (fol. 1b). The same title appears in the colophon (fol. 36a), and in a later inscription on the upper margin of fol. 1a (the latter reading: "Kitāb Aṭbāq al-dhahab"). Physical description: 12 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink with use of red. Interlinear and marginal annotations, apparently by the same hand as the main text. These ḥāshiyah continue after the end of the text on fol. 36a-37b. European paper with watermark. At the end of the volume, addition of a later double page with notes on grammatical matters (fol. 38-39). Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Adabiyāt 80". Inscription in Arabic numerals on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "1585". Origin: According to the colophon, copy completed in Shaʻbān 1268 [May-June 1852] in qariyat al-KNāQh(?) by Muḥammad ibn al-Marsūl ibn Khiḍr al-Bushrawī (fol. 36a). Impression of a stamp reading "Maḥmūd Fayḍī, 1331(?)" on left margin of fol. 9a. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
