Extent: 244 leaves: paper ; 305 x 210 (222 x 140) mm bound to 305 x 220 mm.

Collation: Paper ; fol. 244 + i ; 1-2310 2410 (+4?, fol. 241-244) ; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals, in the form "al-thānī min al-sādis" (see fol. 11a) ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 25 lines per page ; ruled.
Description: Written in medium small script in black ink with use of red for entries and punctuation. Headings in larger script in dark red ink. Thick light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible.
Decoration: Illuminated title-page in gold, blue and white, with a medallion on the left margin on fol. 2a.
Origin: Copy (or text?) completed in Dhū al-Qaʻdah 861 [Sept. 1457] (colophon, fol. 243b).
Two ownership statements on the margin of fol. 2a, one in thick red ink apparently early, the other later in black ink, reading Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan (or Ḥusayn). Acquired by Robert Garrett from Brill, 1900.
