Marginal notes. In the introduction the author dedicates his book to the Sultan al-Malik al-Ashraf Abū al-Naṣr. On the title page occur two circles, one within the other, the writing in the space between them obliterated. Within the inner circle is a statement that this copy was made under the care of Yaḥyá ibn Aḥmad Ibrāhīm and dated 1116 [1704]. There also occur several verses of poetry and...
Collation: Paper ; fol. i (later paper) + 7 + i (later paper) ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled with an inner and outer frame in red.
Description: Vowel signs ; watermarks (crown-star-crescent) ; MS in good condition.
Decoration: Illuminated title page consisting of a frame in red and black containing a circle of red and yellow containing the name of the sponsor.
Origin: Likely created on or about Rajab 1116/1704.
Ownership signatures: Muḥammad Ghazāwī al-Khādim dated 1230, Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Ghazāwī al-Khādim dated 1246, obscured signature dated 1207 (f. 1a). Acquired from Brill, Leyden, 1900.
