Collation: Paper ; fol. 135 + iii ; catchwords ; fol. 51-123 also foliated in ink as 1-83 using Hindu-Arabic numberals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 15-20 lines per page in two columns ; first work frame-ruled in black.
Description: Headings in black, yellow or red ; some paper of first work tinted red, yellow or blue ; watermarks (later endpapers: Pro patria with roman-alphabet letters "JH" "J. Hessels"; text: two types of paper, some watermarked with three crescents and countermarked with roman-alphabet initials and either a trefoil or a cross) ; MS in good condition.
Decoration: Several pages of first work have block-pressed silver designs of varying patterns, often on tinted paper
Origin: [Hādhihi al-Ḥikāyāt] According to colophon copy completed [1] Rabīʻ al-Ākhir 1132 (fol. 135b).
Ownership signatures: Zumar ibn Ḥalām[?] dated [1]287 (f. 1a); Ibrāhīm ibn Abū ... al-Kawkabānī (f. 4a); Muḥammad ibn Aḥsan ibn Muḥammad al-Aḥ.[?] dated 1247, Muḥammad al-Daḥfash dated 1263?, other obscured signatures, one dated 1271 (f. 5a). Acquired from Brill, Leyden, 1900.
