Physical description: 15 lines per page; written in naskh in black on heavy, tan, glazed, laid Arabic paper. Vocalized. Catchwords. Edges painted blue. Damp staining, mainly marginal but more extensive towards end of ms.; some smudging of illuminations. Light insect damage and some paper repairs, particularly to fol. 1-3, 318. In good condition. Decoration: Elaborately illuminated two-page spreads on fol. 1b-2a, 2b-3a in gold and colors. Sūrah headings in blue, gold, and orange. Ruled marginal lines in blue, gold, and green; medallions in margins, some of which mark every quarter ḥizb. Verses separated with gilt circles. On some pages, text set within clouds on gold ground.
