Layout: Written in 4 columns of 55 lines; ruled.
Script: Written in gothic bookhand.
Decoration: 2 large initial 'P's in gold, blue, and rose with white ornaments, covered by a red silk curtain sewn into the leaf; 1 6-line initial 'P' in red with blue pen ornaments; 2-line initials in blue or red with pen flourishes in other color.
Origin: Written in France during the 13th century, possibly the first quarter.
Foliated twice in 20th-century pencil: 58 and 59 in upper outer corner, and 62 and 63 in lower outer corner on recto of each leaf.
Parent volume written in France and passed to a monastic library in Germany during the late Middle Ages; volume sold by Zisska & Kistner (1988); part of Martin Schøyen Collection sold by Sotheby's (2003); leaves from volume sold by Neumann_Walther, Leipzig bookseller (after 2003); King Alfred's Notebook (2011); Nicholas B.
