Title from illuminated title page (fol. 3a).
Physical description: 15 lines per page. Written in medium small square naskh in black ink with use of red. Thick dark cream to biscuit paper, glossy, hardly translucid. Occasional marginal annotation. Verses of poetry by later hands on fol. 1a-2b and 92a-93a. Quinions; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
Decoration: Illuminated title page on fol. 3a executed in gold, red, blue, and black, and consisting of a panel with a roundel on the left margin, outlined in blue with radiatings flecks. The panel consists of two parts: an upper cartouche occupying one third of the surface bears the title ; the lower part consists of a square with a central roundel bearing the statement of responsibility and...
Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "47".
Origin: According to colophon, copied by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Bukhārī(?) al-Mālikī (fol. 90b). A note on the margin of fol. 91b indicates that the copy was completed in 88- H. R. Mach reads 880 H.
Several ownership statements and reading statements on fol. 91b, including one in the name of Ibrāhīm ibn al-sayyid ʻAlī al-... al-Shāfiʻī, dated 1092 H. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942. - Keyword:
