A few marginal notes and glosses. On three folios before the first occur an index and a table of contents (Fihrist qirāʼ al-ʻasharah). On the three folios following the colophon are several samāʻ certificates, one dated 823.
Collation: Paper ; fol. i + 413 + i ; catchwords ; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 27 lines per page ; frame-ruled in gold on fol. 4b and 5a, frame-ruled in red throughout the remainder of the text.
Description: Rubricated ; watermarks (roman-alphabet text "RheartR" in an oblong with unidentified mark including laurel leaves; roman-alphabet letters "PflowerR" in oblong with grapes below and crown above) ; MS in very good condition.
Ownership statement and seal impression reading "al-Sayyid Ḥāfiẓ Sulaymān" dated 1097; seal impression (fol. 1a). Acquired from Brill, Leyden, 1900.
