Ms. codex. Title from lower edge of text block. Marginal notes and summaries; evidently trimmed as some pages have folded edges to preserve notes. The work was composed for Sulaymān I 1520-1 566. It is stated in the colophon that the author completed the work in 1005 [1597]. This is undoubtedly a mistake, since the author died in 1574. List of contents for each volume on preliminary leaf. Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 576 + i, ii + 570 + i ; catchwords ; vol. 2 has foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numberals ; both vols. have modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals. Description: Rubricated ; watermarks (later endpapers: eagle with roman-alphabet letters "GFA" or "LAF", coat-of-arms with a lion; text: countermark initials "AH"? and "BT"? with trefoil, unidentified circular mark) ; MS in good condition.
