The work was composed on the occasion of the appointment by Maḥmūd III the Ottoman (A.D. 1595-1603) of Muḥammad Pāshā as governor of Egypt 1004-1006 1596-1598. Invocation on the folio before the title page, two lines of verse and an obscured dated statement on the title page
