Decoration: Faint illumination of gold
A manuscript leaf from "Flemish Book of Hours" featuring wide margins. The manuscript from which this leaf was taken, shows the influence of the Flemish or northern French in the few initial letters where a clay base was encrusted over with gold paint.
This leaf only shows the faint illumination of the soft gold. The rulings used to write in a straight line are also evident on the leaf.
