According to reference sources attribution is given variously to al-Khuwārizmī , Jamāl al-Dīn Abū ʻAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Qazwīnī, 527 1132/3 or al-Qazwīnī al-Shāfiʻī. Whatever his name, the author in all likelihood lived in the first half of the sixth century of the Hijrah and wrote sometime after 527 1132/3
