Vol. 2 On fol. 15b begins the original text, with a basmalah. On fol. 1a, note quoting al-Imām al-Shāfiʻī on seven --- in Babylon.
Collation: Paper ; fol. i + 221 + i, i + 205 + i ; catchwords ; quires signed: 4-46 ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 25-27 lines per page ; ruled.
Description: Rubricated ; MS is worm-eaten and fragile. Vol. 1 missing some leaves, e.g. central bifolio of the fifth quire (between fol. 31 and 32), two bifol. in the sixth quire, etc.
Paper: Vol. 1: light cream paper with laid lines and pulp visible ; The quires of vol. 1 are numbered using Arabic ordinals and numerals, starting with "Rābiʻ 4" on fol. 18a. Vol. 2: light cream paper with laid lines, chain lines, and pulp visible ; Fol. 2-15a are later replacements on glazed European paper (corners wanting on fol. 2-7; fol. 15 pasted on the recto of an original leaf).
Origin: Copy of vol. 1 completed in the beginning (mustahall) of Shawwāl 889 Oct. 1484 (colophon, fol. 221b).

Reading statement on vol. 2, fol. 1a (repeated on fol. 205b), signed Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Dāʼūd known as al-Mashmūshī, dated 29 Jumādá al-Ākhir sanah ---? on fol. 1a, and 27 Jumādá al-Ūlá sanah ---?, on fol. 205b.
