Collation: Catchwords, no signatures or numbers.
Origin: Egypt.
Layout: 13 lines per page, single column; no ruling.
Script: Naskh. Most sections written in black with periodic rubrication, others in brown without rubrication by a different scribe (often on thinner paper, probably replacing lost original pages).
Decoration: Ornamental title-pages of alternating lines of red and black, tapering to a point. Many tailed globes in red.
Binding: Half-binding of thin brown leather over pasteboard, with left-hand flap. Exteriors of covers and flap covered with marbled paper in combed green, yellow, and red. Text block stitched to cover at spine. Cover interiors and flap lined with yellowish paper. Sewing knots between pp. 10-11, 36-37, 54-55 (broken).
Short inscription in black on front cover in Latin alphabet, possibly "cotr. hh. J6x6." Written in black ink on flyleaf: "from library of Rev. Edwd. P. Roe, Mar. 18 1909 IV-CI" (that is, Reverend Edward Payson Roe (1838-1888); American chaplain and novelist.) Edward Sandford Burgess purchased the book in 1909 at the McLean sale.
