Collation: Small quarto (215 x 145 mm) in quires of 10 (except VII^12, XII^12). Vertical catchwords, enclosed in a box, on the lower margin at the end of each quire. No pagination. No pricking. outer margin ruled by metal point. On watermarked paper.
Origin: Italy.
Layout: 1 column of 24 lines on an area 133 x 95 mm. Wide margins.
Script: Roman humanistic characters. In 1, Subiaco humanistic hand. Scholia interlinearis et marginalis, in cursive. Earlier text in brown ink with later text in dark black.
Decoration: Alternating large semi-Gothic capitals in deep blue and orange-red of varied size. Rubricated headings and names of characters.
Binding: 222 x 150 mm exposed pressed boards over edged morocco. Spine showing 5 raised bands, reinforced uniquely by strips of vellum. Edward Sandford Burgess' notes suggest the book was rebound in England in the 16th century.
