Manuscript comprises 229 vellum folios and has five distinct parts. The 1st two folios are missing; At the end of the 2nd part, Renier de Gennes, eight folios are missing. These were missing in 1883.
Half page at end may contain former ownership information.
Layout: Single column in short lines from f. 1a to f. 136a and f. 191a to f. 192a; long lines from f. 137a to 190a and f. 192b to f. 224a. Margins and lines ruled in brown ink, some rubricated lines. Some pages have pricking at outer foredge; pages have been trimmed. Occasional marginal notes by scribe, and some later entries in another, looser hand.
Script: Written in ink in lettres bâtardes, with flourishes in brown ink, and extended decorative ink flourishes at top of page. Some upper swashes and some capital letters are accented with yellow-brown wash. Capitals in gold and colors.
