Accompanied by an unsigned, undated letter, apparently by a book dealer, which describes it as an "occult manuscript. An interesting common place book containing extracts from writers on magic and necromancy, witchcraft & folklore, in Latin and English." Consult Special Collections Info File for photocopy of letter.
The accompanying letter states that "The volume originally belonged to a 'Richard Grosvenor' whose signature is on a blank leaf [verso of 239]." Grosvenor cannot be further identified based on this information. Consult Special Collections Info File for photocopy of letter.
Some watermarks visible (chalice and grapes?) but tightness of the binding makes identification difficult.
