Collation: Parchment (prepared in southern fashion), fol. 64; 1-515 64; leaves signed differently in each quire beginning a followed by a horizontal stroke, a second series of signatures particular to each quire visible on some leaves; catchwords present on bottom right framed in four groups of three dots each. Previously at one point a component part of a larger manuscript. Layout: Written in 2 columns of 54 lines. Script: Written in Italian gothic textura. Decoration: Headings by the same hand in orange-red; running headings in upper and outer margins in orange-red and blue in semi-gothic textura; guides to rubricator present (fols. 69, 104, 113, and 122); illuminated acanthus-leaf initials in blue, gray. lilac, orange-red and blue minor initials and paragraph marks throughout. Origin: Written in Italy, possibly in Bologna as suggested by script and decoration, in the second half of the fourteenth century. Sparse contemporary marginal notes throughout.
