To each album leaf are affixed between one and four smaller leaves of text--including 35 poems ranging from several lines to a full page, and many rhymed mottos or proverbs--or artwork, consisting of [39] hand-colored and illuminated coats-of-arms of fellow students, and several full-page paintings, perhaps the most finely-executed of which is "Une bourgeosse de France" by F. Vagus, dated July... Leaf [2] contains ms. note by Eusèbe Castaigne, "bibliothécaire de la ville d'Angoulême", which begins: "Album recueilli par Arnold-André Sittard (Sittart ou Sittardt), né à Cologne, qui vint étudier à Paris au commencement de 1577, s'y fixa et y demeurait encore le 1er juillet 1621."
