Two vellum sheets have been joined to form the roll, with upper and lower ends sewn to wooden dowels; polished wooden knobs on each end of dowel allow ms. to be rolled and unrolled.
Guard sheets of Japanese tissue and glassine; ms. rolled in brown cloth clamshell box, with gold-stamped box title: "Genealogical roll of the kings of England and France and the dukes of Burgundy, with their coats of arms finely emblazoned. France. c. 1465." - Keyword:
