Text in a readable semi-cursive gothic hand in brown and red ink, with a few additions and corrections in blue; caption headings and underlinings in red; ornamental initials in red, green, and blue; red and green line fillers.
Full-page hand-colored woodcut in red, blue, green, and ocher (75 x 55 mm.) is affixed to verso of leaf [39], portraying the flagellation of Christ, with the unusual addition of the figures of the Virgin Mary and John the Evangelist watching from a window above in the background.
Watermark of a one-handled jug ("Pot à une anse"); cf. Briquet 12546.
Laid in: small ms. fragment with prickings visible along one edge; and a small heart-shaped illustration of the Pietà.
Presentation inscription in German from the bishop, dated 1848 in Breslau, on front pastedown. - Keyword:
