Layout: Written in 14 long lines; ruled in violet ink; calendar ruled for 17 lines.
Script: Written in gothic textualis rotunda media.
Decoration: Thirteen half-page miniatures accompanied by full acanthus spray borders decorated with many hybrid animal-men figures, exotic birds, and fantastic creatures: fol. 13r (Four evangelists in four panels); fol. 27r (the Annunciation); fol. 38v (the Visitation); fol. 55r (the Nativity); fol. 61 (the Annunciation to the shepherds in the field; in margin: naked bird-man or -woman with...
Origin: Written in France, probably in Rouen in about 1470.
Former owner's annotations: fol. 1-2 in margins, nine unidentified proverbs in Latin, Greek, and French, dated twice 1595, all by one hand, possibly the same as that which added prayers on fol. 159-163.
Former owner's inscription: A. Schinkel Anno 1843.
