Collation: Parchment, fol. i + 120 + i; 1-158; catchwords visible at the end of some quires.
Layout: Written in 31 long lines; ruled in hard point with double boundary lines.
Script: Written in protogothic textualis media formata; fol. 119r to end written in a more documentary script.
Decoration: Patterned blue, green, and dark red initials 4-7 lines high.
Origin: Written in England in the middle of the 12th century, at Saint Mary's Reading, to which it belonged.
Used three times as collateral for a loan by Willelmus de Borghildbiri from the Robery chest at Oxford University in 1325, 1326, and 1327; see three caution notes, the first two crossed out on fol. 120.
Former owner's inscription "Liber sancte Marie Radying[ensi]s quem qui alienaverit anathema sit" written in gothic cursiva, 13th century.
Belonged to J. Reynoldes, 1577.
Former owner's inscription: James Bowen Salop anno 1748.
