Collation: Parchment, fol. 60; 1-610; catchwords surrounded by varying intricate geometrical pen borders.
Layout: Written in 17 long lines; ruled in black-brown ink.
Script: Written in Italian gothic textualis rotunda formata.
Decoration 1: Historiated initials: fol. 1r, D (King David in prayer ), Arms repainted with those of Duchess Reneé of Lorraine ; fol. 35v, O (Chirst on the Cross).
Decoration 2: fol. 40v: Illumination of Christ crucified, 10 line high.
Decoration 3: Decorated illuminated initials: (a) Blue, gold, and magenta initials 2 lines high with piece floral border decoration with magenta and green acanthus spray, blue flowers, and small radiating gold discs; (b) Gold filigree initial 2 lines high on an alternating blue and red ground; (c) simples gold initials 1 line high and paragraph marks on red, blue, and green grounds throughout
Origin: Written in Florance, as indicated by the decoration and presence of Zenobius in the litany, after 7 January 1499, the date of the marriage of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany. Louis IX and Anne listed in the litany and suffrages.
Former owner: Henry Probasco.
Letter addressed to Ernst Detterer dated Jan. 3rd, 1940 removed.
