Collation: Paper (cf. Briquet no. 3370 "chapeau de cardinal", Florence ca. 1465-1467 or Venice, 1469), 140 leaves (last leaf and bottom flyleaf defective), lacking leaves 23, 38, 42, 80, 82, 88, 90, 107, 119, 127 and apparently single leaves after leaves 6 and 35. Some horizontal catchwords and some leaf signatures, old foliation (16th century?)
Layout: Written in about 32-35 lines.
Script: Written in a variety of semi-cursive gothic bookhands in dark brown ink.
Decoration: Headings in red, capitals touched in yellow, some painted initials in red or blue or in pale red infilled with yellow, two pages with large initials and two-sided decorative borders formed of scrolling leaves in penwork infilled with wash in yellow and pink.
Origin: Possibly written in Florence or Venice, Italy between 1465 and 1475.
Provenance: part of a name on the last leaf, "... farsettaio, scritto di sua mano", Giovanni da Magronami di Lucca (merchant in Constantinople), Lucha di Masino Dalpozzo and Francesco di Salvestro (fol.48r), Juliano di Domenicho dalla Chavallina and Francesco di Salvestro di Rinaldo da Sangiovanni (fol.48v), and others.
