Spine title (gold stamped) and caption title (added): Officium defunctorum. Text: Gothic; early to middle 15th cent. Red and brown ink. Initials. With music: plain-chant notation. Final leaf in different hand; rulings for music also different. Appears to be a complete book. From the order that followed William of Maleval (d. 1157). Referred to as the Hermits of St. William and Williamites. Their privileges were confirmed in 1435 at the Council of Basel.
