The published texts of the Antidoti can be found in the facsimile edition of Valla's Opera omnia (Basel, 1540; reprinted Torino, 1962), v. 1, p. 253-366. The ms. text of book 4 breaks off at p. 337, line 25, with the words: ... & in qua causa. The other Valla work (between books 3 and 4 of the ms. fo the Antidoti): v.,1 p. 366-389.
Collation: Paper (quires 1-17 watermarked with a château, not in Briquet; quire 18 watermarked with huchet, cf. Bruquet, 7608; quires 20-21 watermarked with an oiseau, cf. Briquet, 12145), fol. iii + 194 (modern foliation begins on flyleaves) ; 110 (-1) 2-1010 118 12-1610 1710 (-3, stub only with a trace of 16th-century script) 1810 194 (-1, stub only) 20-218 (8 serves as pastedown) ; catchwords.
Layout: Written in 24 long lines beginning on the 2nd ruled line; ruled in hard point.
Script: Written in humanistic cursiva media; fol. 4r: heading in violet in script of text; quotations underlined in red; marginal finding notes and manicules by at least two 15th-century hands.
Origin: Written in southern Italy in the 2nd half of the 15th century; paper and ownership marks indicate Naples.
