Collation: Paper (water damage severe toward end; fol. 76-79, folios reset on modern paper), fol. i + 79 + i ; 110 (-9, stub only) 21 (a single leaf with catchwords on verso) 3-810 910 (-10) ; horizontal catchwords surrounded by 4 fleur-de-lys-type flourishes.
Layout: Written in 25 long lines; ruled in pencil.
Script: Written in northern European lettre bâtarde; headings in red in script of text; occasional marginal notes in Italian humanistic cursiva.
Decoration: fol. 1r: gold dentelle initial with white patterning on a ground of green, blue, and red 5 lines high; discrete full border of blue, green, and red acanthus spray decorated with radiating gold disks; gold dentelle initials with white patterning on grounds of green and blue 4 lines high at the beginning of each chapter, some decorated with a trace of acanthus spray bearing radiating...
Origin: Written in Italy by a scribe trained in northern Europe, after January 31, 1483, date on which Oliviero Carafa became bishop of Santa Sabina (Rome).
Unidentified cardinal's arms, fol. 1r, placed beneath a bishop's miter, on either side, the initials "O" and "F"; these arms are not those of Oliviero Carafa.
