Collation: Paper (end pastedown has tête de boeuf watermark, cf. Briquet 14619), fol. 1, parchment ; fol. i + 253 + i (small unnumbered bifolio formed from a slip of paper inserted after fol. 249, writing on first recto only) ; 11 + 12 2-612 714 8-2012 (10-12 stubs only) ; catchwords present ; quires 1 and 2 signed "primo" and 2us" in the lower margin of the verso of the last leaf, quires...
Layout: Written in 38-42 lines in 2 columns; frame-ruled in brown ink.
Script: Written in gothic cursiva media; ink varying from black to light brown, changing color on fol. 136r; guide letters to rubricator present.
Decoration: Red Germanic initials throughout; red paragraph marks and punctuation sporadically present.
Origin: Written in Austria in the 15th century, before 1462 (see former owner's inscription dated 1462).
Inscription fol. 1r, formerly in the Benedictine abbey of Garsten: "Hunc librum dedit dominus Petrus Budatsth ad bybliothecam in Garstim ad honorem beate uirginis pro anime sue salute anno domini mo cccco lxiio." This Garsten manuscript unrecorded.
Former shelf numbers: "Primo/E/Ultimo" and "2157" in pen.
