Layout: Quire 1 written in approximately 52-62 lines in 2 columns; quire 2 written in 33-39 long lines, quire 3 written in 42-73 lines in 2 columns; quire 4 written in 42-73 long lines, quires 5-6 written in 39-43 long lines; quires 1-3, 5, and 6 frame ruled in pencil, quire 4 frame ruled in hard point, quire 7-8 frame ruled in hard point.
Script: Quires 1-6 written in northern European hybrida currens with a long terminal "s", reflecting humanistic influence; quires 2, 3, and 6, headings in red in Italian gothic textualis rotunda media, writing begins on or above the upper ruled line; quires 7-8 written in Italian hybrida with trailing terminal "s" in very black ink beginning on second ruled line.
Origin: Quires 1-6 written in 1461-1469 by Friar Wolfgang of Austria, a northern scribe, revealing only minimal Italian influences; quires 7-8 written in 1456 for Antonio de Viterbo of the Franciscan convent of Santa Maria del Paradiso in Viterbo, dated on fol. 75v above.
