Probable dates suggested by contemporary inscription on front pastedown: "1460 Per Johannem Sigismundi de Brno. Pro itinere. In Cancro Gemini iter fac urna Sagitta. Pro laxativis. Can[cro] Scor[pius] Aquarius Libra..."; and dates associated with watermarks.
Written in regular "bastarda" secretarial script in dark brown ink, 33 long lines per page, by at least three different scribes; ruled in light plummet (lead); capitals and section headings in bright red; spaces left blank for initials, with guide letters; some catchwords; fists (f. 52, 192, 193); contemporary marginal annotations.
Text illustrated with scattered small drawings, including human face (f. 221), hanged person (f. 147), barrel? (f. 197).
Watermarks: similar to Briquet 11888 (three mountains within a circle, surmounted by a cross; used in Hungary 1433-1468); and Briquet 2469 (scales, used in Hungary, 1445-1465).

Illustrated bookplate (saber and quill pen, crossed) of the Serrigny family.
Laid in: 1 leaf (1 p.) containing typescript note, addressed to Géneral Serrigny from B. Faÿ, curator at the Bibliothèque nationale, dated May 22, 1943 in Paris. Note identifies contents of ms., and includes Faÿ's suggestion that Serrigny either donate or sell ms. to the library. - Keyword:
