Layout: Written in 37 lines in 2 columns; ruled in pencil; prickings in outer margin.
Script: Written in Italian gothic textualis media with one-story "a".
Decoration: fol. 1r: red and blue flourished initial 6 lines high; alternating minor red initials with blue flourishes and blue initials with red flourishes throughout; alternating red and blue paragraph marks denote entry points.
Origin: Written in Italy in the first half of the 15th century.
Former owner: C. L. Ricketts.
Rear pastedown, crude heraldic device drawn in pen, 15th century grammatical notes in Latin, obscure note of 16th century in Italian.
Stamp, fol. 1r, lower margin, "MN" of Giovan Battista Niccolini (1782-1861), Florence.
Reported by De Ricci to have been in lot no. 200 in an English sale approximately 1850, not confirmable from the manuscript, but traces of what may have been a catalog clipping are visible on verso of front cover; sold by Sotheby's at the Samuel Allen sale, London, January 30, 1920, lot no. 72 to Quaritch.
