"Leicester's commonwealth" was re-published in 1641 and was versified as "Leicester's ghost" about the same time. Authorship was erroneously attributed to Robert Parsons.--cf. Dict. nat. biog
Ms. notes on end paper: "Thorpe the bookseller gave 15/6 for this at Isaac Reed's sale. Phillipps mss. 8990. ... An important historical poem, written in a hand of the time of Queen Elizabeth.
