Collation: Parchment, fol. 44 (an undetermined number of folios missing at the beginning, after fol. 3, and probably at the end; severe water damage at the end, considerable portions of text illegible, even under ultraviolet light) ; 16 (central portion of quire missing) 210 310 (-9 with loss of text) 410 56 64 (-4) ; catchwords present.
Layout: Written in 20-25 long lines beginning on the first ruled line; ruled in hard point for 25 lines; spaces between words omitted frequently.
Script: Written in humanistic textura; headings in script of text in brown ink which was probably violet when written.
Origin: Written in Italy, probably Florence, during the lifetime of Belcari (died 1484).
Occasional marginal annotations in two different hands: a second hand transcribes "ave maria" on fol. 25r; a third hand later transcribes a number of notes throughout the manuscript, probably referring to page numbers in a different edition. On the right margin of fol. 37r, a partially legible text is transcribed by the first main, hand ("Cantasi come...").
Former owner's inscription front pastedown: pencil note by an American of English hand "Raffaello Uccelli, Firenze giugno 1925 costa L. 200.00. - Keyword:
