Collation: Parchment, fol. 49 + i (modern foliation 7-55; paper manuscript waste flyleaf, folded to fit in the binding, possibly from original binding) ; collation impracticable.
Layout: Written in 16 long lines; ruled in pen.
Script: Written in gothic textualis media varying from semiquadrata to quadrata; vertical strokes used as adjunct to word separation by space; headings in red in script of text.
Decoration: fol. 45r and 48r, spaces left blank for miniatures of the vision of Gregory and the arms of Christ; fol. 25r, gold dentelle initial with white patterning on ground of magenta and blue, very deteriorated from moisture; alternating red and blue minor initials; blue initials with red flourishes mark beginning of some texts; punctuation in red on final folios.
Origin: Written in England in the 2nd half of the 14th-century; many of the texts are found in books of hours of English origin.
Former owner's inscription, fol. 28v-29r: notes on Leo X written in English in an italic script, dated 1515.
