Incipit: Dominica p[ri]ma adventus d[omi]ni missa[m] introitus, Ad te levavi ... Explicit: In compassionem Beate Marie, Salvam me fac ... Et ne avertas faciam tuam a puello tuo quoniam tribulor velociter exaudi me.
Collation: Parchment, fol. 268 (foliated); last leaf foliated but blank.
Layout: Red 4-line staves with black square notes; 7 staves per page.
Script: Written in cursiva hybrida.
Decoration: fol. 1: 3/4 border decoration in gold, green, blue, and red; 18 decorated illuminated initials in gold, white, blue, green, and red featuring flowers, birds, butterflies, bugs, and dragons; pen-flourished initials in alternating blue and red; small strapwork initials in black and red, many with faces.
Origin: Written in France or Flanders for Cathusian use in the later half of the 15th century.
Apparent Carthusian Gradual with plainchant for Carthusian Masses for the Dead (two masses, one beginning Requiem eternam and the other Respice) and a Carthusian textual variant in the Offertory Domine Jesu. For more information Consult Special Collection Info File.
