Note:
Part books, one for bass part of 63 compositions and the other for cantus part of 22 other compositions, comprised of motets and some hymns for mixed voices. At head of title: Fasciculus. Composers of most works in the bass part book are identified within the text and include Ludwig Daser, Sixtus Dietrich, Jakob Gerhart, Jacob Handl, Valentin Haussmann, Gregor Lange, Orlando di Lasso, Thomas Mancinus, Jacob Meiland, Philippe de Monte, Jacob Regnart, Antonio Scandello, Johann Sigfrid, and Johannes Wessalius. The compositions in the cantus part book are unattributed. The bass part book was probably produced in Saxony, possibly in Dresden. The cantus part book is written in a different hand and was possibly produced in Saxony during the 17th century. The first 55 compositions in the bass part book are numbered 1-55; the last 8 in this book and all of the compositions in the cantus part book are unnumbered. Lacking compositions 18, 19, and 38 and part of 37. All leaves after the title leaf in the bass part book are numbered in pencil 1-66 in a modern hand; the leaves in the bass part book are similary numbered 67-84. Content is written on both sides of the leaves except for leaves 66v and 67, which are blank. Faint armorial stamp and shelf marks "R 15791" and "R 15570" on title page of bass part book and leaf 79r of cantus part book.
