Collation: Parchment, fol. 96 (foliated in red ii-xiiii, xvi-xl, xlii-lvii, lix-xcviii, c-ci, rear pastedown foliated cii (some numbers partially trimmed off or obscured by damage to manuscript); 18(-1) 28(-7) 3-58 68(-1) 72 88(-8) 9-138 143(-1, +3); pastedowns formed from first leaf of quire 1 and last(?) leaf of quire 14; catchwords. Layout: Written in 6 long lines, ruled in hard point. Script: Written in southern textura. Decoration: Large red and blue "D" with red and blue pen flourishing and pen-flourished border (front pastedown); red and blue initials with red and blue pen flourishing; alternating blue and red initials with red and blue pen flourishing respectively; black strapwork initials (some with faces or foliate elements) with yellow color washing. Music: Red 5-line staves with black square notation; 6 staves per page. Origin: Written in Spain, 16th century. Leaves 87-88 and 91-95 have significant damage from heating oil; bottom edge damaged by rodents. Manuscript annotations in Spanish a several later hands; fol. 53r: "es de Sta Marina ano 1726"; fol. 59v: "Ramon Arroyo."
